The word purpose means the intention to create or manufacture a thing, everything on Earth is created for a specific purpose. It's important to realize that God did not just create everything for nothing, everything that has been created or manufactured has a way of serving its purpose. An airplane has a purpose while it was manufactured, a car and a house also have their specific purpose.
In a simple term, purpose is the intention that God put in your heart to serve here on earth realm when he sorts you as an arrow from eternity into time.
You don't create your purpose, you discover it.
Hebrew 10:7, then said I, lo, (I come in the volume of the book, it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Your purpose has been written already in the volume of his book. The day you find yourself in the book, you begin to work on the path of destiny. God designed that you find fulfillment when you begin to work on your purpose.
Discovering Your Purpose
God is a God of purpose, he is driven by purpose. I have also come to realize that God didn't just create man to work upon the surface of the earth, get old, get married, give birth to children, go to the university, end degrees and die. This has been a testimony of many people that did not understand the purpose of their lives. It's important to find the original assignment and the intention of God's purpose in your life.

- Your prosperity is in your purpose
- Your fame and influence are in your purposes
The irony of life is that, if you don't find your purpose, you will leave your life getting offended and angry at those who have found it, because you will aspire to become what they already are, but you will always end in frustration.
Jeremiah 1: 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before that camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. This is the voice of God speaking to the prophet Jeremiah, God has already designed and ordained him a prophet before he was even born, Jeremiah discovered his purpose and act accordingly.
Joseph in the bible is a portrait of a good example of purpose. He was very young, but he never doubted his intention. He was so determined regardless.
Proverbs 16: 4 the Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. It was God's intention and purpose to create man and every other thing within us.
Genesis 37: 3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children because he was the son of his old age: and he made his coat of many colors. Joseph had a special gift as a young boy, God revealed to him what will happen in the future through dreams.
Genesis 37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. Joseph was not just an ordinary young boy, he was a pure soul, he used to be the father's favorite, and his brothers hated him for this. Joseph was only focused and hardworking, believing his dream will come to pass.
37:6 and he said unto them, Hear, I pray you this dream which I have dreamed:
When God is involved in the story, no man can bring you down, Joseph's brother's envied him, because of his glory and greatness
